Why you should not drink and play volleyball!!!!
Poor Frank. His first appearance at our school after moving to a new one. Playing against us, within the first minute of the game. Serves the ball into the net, and being dramatic he dives onto the floor, and lands on his face and cuts his upper lip with his own teeth. To the point that within seconds blood is gushing, swelling, and in my opinion, stitch worthy. Poor Frank.
On a lighter note, my team one our pool. by far the strongest team, stacked with 5 players and me. I am getting better. But my game got worse the more that I drank. Why is that?
An ugly day here. There is thick fog, and rain. Good day to just stay in bed.
Or, go shopping.
Or should I save my pennies for when I go to England in two weeks?
Hmmmm

I think that I might be back from the dead.
Well maybe just for today.
Things have been a little heavy on the emotional side.
Have been busy attending weddings, and stagettes, and baby parties. All the while being thrust into the land of commitment and relationships, and wondering how people do it. Have also made some great realizations about people that I don't need to make space for in my life anymore.
Basketball season is in full swing and the girls are playing well. This will be our best season by far, and we are thrilled. The sad thing is to see them grow as players under our supervision and then move up to play at the senior level. I guess that is just the way that things are to go.
We have booked our trip already for March Break and will be heading to the Dominican Republic for a week. God help that resort. I'm not sure that they are ready for the girls. I of course will be the most tame and innocent out of the whole group.
I am sad though as that is the week that I usualy go to spend with my sister, and I really want her to come and join us. However I am not sure where she will be as she is talking of moving and then staying in London. It is an interesting journey.
Testing week for the 10's this week so there is great excitement over the test that they will be writing over the next few days.
I am working on yet another course to upgrade my credentials. And have finaly sent off my paperwork to get a salary increase. That money is already spent.
Although I have been so good lately at not spending money. I think I might have mentioned that while I was in my car, and it felt that it could then afford to ask for some loving. $500 later she is running like a kitten. Only needs $600 more and she will be up and running like new. I think that it is time for me to think about that Mini cooper or smart car that I NEED to have.
final thought:
Yan asks where I think I will end up (career wise)
I say jokingly, "Where ever the good Lord leads me."
Yan says, "He will probably lead you to Trinity Common."!! (The local shopping conglomorate)
Oh, wise Chinese elder!!!!
another final thought.
New obsession
Starbucks Chai Tea Latte. WOWZA!!

I wonder how many times I can be kicked in the teeth by someone before I realize that they are not worth my time or energy.
This has been another challenging weekend for me.
It's really hard to hold your chin up when you keep getting blow after blow laid down on you.
Why am I always letting people with such negative energy drain me?
When will I find the strength to rid myself of people who just repetedly cause me pain?
It's that damn broken wing syndrome. People come into my life because they need some one to care for them. And the minute that they are stable again... the fly off shitting on me as they leave.
That seems to be the theme of this weekend.

I can only describe it as the creature that appeared in the opening scenes of Jurassic Park.
From the corner of my eye last night, I saw it creep out from around the corner, come into the living room, and then run back out. Where it went? I am not sure. But I locked myself upstairs in my room and once again found that the mosquito net that i hung above my bed for ambiance is actually useful.
I hate bugs!!!

I hate flies.
When they land on me.
When they tickle my legs.
When I swing at them and miss, and everyone thinks that I am wierd for slapping a desk out of the blue.
I also hate watching other people fight over flies landing on them.
Not sure what bothers me more.
Them landing on me, or landing on others.
Hmmmm.
I also hate spilling on my shirt first thing in the morning and having to walk around the rest of the day with a drop on my shirt. As the only thing I have to change into is my shirt and sports bra that I worked out in.
Arrrrrhhhhh.

You know that it has been a long time when you try to log into you blog and you can't remember your password.
So.. Summer is almost over. And I wonder why I have problems with fatigue.
Lets see where I have been over the last 10 weeks (with higlights)
Athens (Yummy food, fab brand new hotel, olympic maddness, 14 hour duty day.)
Amsterdam (tripping over my feet on the way back to the hotel, not from sampling, but from sheer fatigue. STONER)
Belfast (pints, many)
Birmingham (seeing my sister, too tired to even shop, i know shocking)
Cardif (Mikey jewlerry store, my new favorite place)
Dublin (5 pound bottles of wine, a CRAZT crew, fish and chips, dolly parton at the hilton)
Exeter (long bus ride)
Glascow(Summer sales, tea houses, pubs and pints)
Lisbon (my first visit ever, and it rained the whole time, marble pavement that was very slippery, and a fab visit to Womens Secret.)
London (gorgeous day, nicer than Porto, no sister boo hoo, and a fab new pair of jeans)
Newcastle (up hill climbs in the rain with flip flops, pints in the garden, and the gross river behind the hotel that changes with the current and shows you it's nasty underbelly)
New Orleans (alligator, hurricanes, HEAT, Maman, beads, Fun place, must visit again)
Porto (Pink. fab gay bar, if you are in that scene. I am not!!!, Andrew falling down a winding staircase and making the music stop when he hit the ground. Shooters with the owner, driving around the city with a boy that the boys picked up, Lee spinning out of control into a pole and leaving an imprint of a star on his head, me tripping many times UP staircases. Did you know Zara has a some store?)
Yeah!!! Many places, little sleep.
Oh, and I finished my specialist in Special Education as well.
Hello Insantiy
But, all worth it in the end as I have made several fab purchases and have not yet opened up my credit card bill. Think I will wait for a rainy day.
Am heading into school today to prepare the outlines and lessons for the first week of classes. I can't believe that it is time to go back.
I NEVER sleep the night before school. I am just like the kids. I am nervous about the first day of school. I would never tell them that.
It is to be a cooking day today so I will make it an early visit and a quick exit.
Should find myself on a better routine with this blog as it is back to high speed for me and away from the dial up!!!

Wow!
Am home again from another around the world journey.
Had just returned from a fab vacation in the lovely New Orleans.
Hi three for one drinks!!!!
And hello unbearable heat. Thank God I thought ahead and booked a hotel that had a roof top pool. I would not last one red hot minute. Although I must say the heat was a different heat. Not as heavy as the heat in the T.O.
Ate alligator (surprisingly yummy), drank daquiris, and hurricances, bought some beads (and was given some as well), and purchased some fab feather masks. And of course some tasty duty free....
After a long day of travelling home, I woke up the next moring with a crazy, labour like pain (only one that I could imagine to be labour as I have no experience...) And am not sure but it might have been food poisoning. But I was a trooper and halled my arse to work again as Seestor was planning to meet up with me in Burmingham. It was great to see her and deeliver her Peanut Butter, home made jam (from Mum), and Microwave popcorn. I managed to put down some lunch and a pint. But that was the end of me. I had to sleep. It was not pretty, I could not even shop. Yes you read correctly.
It turned out to be a crazy weekend at the Plaza. Let me tell you. Olympic athletes, the West Indies cricket team!!! There was not a quiet moment in that place over the las t few days. I also came this close, and I mean this close to being on the BBC this afternoon as well.
And the flight home this afternoon? Wow, in all my years, I have never seen so many people vomit on the plane. The crowing moment was when the two little ladies (6 and 9) travelling by themselves, came to hug me good bye. Just as I released the 9 year old, she projectile vomited over my shoulder and splattered on the side of the suitcase. How on earth she did not vomit on me????? I have no idea!!. It was the funniest slow motion moment of my life. I almost vomited on her. Can you just imagine??
Another reason that I would NEVER become a groomer on the plane. I could not deal with that at all. We had to lock off a lav as someone did a number all over the floor, and I kidd you not that there were at least 20 gift bags left for people to pick up.
I won't even begin to tell you about the fab deals that I purchased on my big day out!!
Let's just say that I love the summer sales.
If you have any requests.. you better submit them in writing, complete with sizes please.
:)

The Thunder From Down Under.
I am not talking about your thighs.....
What a storm last night. They car across the street had it's car alarm ring every time the thunder bellowed. It was unreal. I had great fears that the lightning was going to come through the house. It was truly an unbelievable scene.
Have a few unexpected days off, and we won't discuss the reason. But have turned to the house and have started five little projects. Started is the key word.
I must get down and finish them, but I would rather sleep. How can I be depressed in the summer? I am a winter depressiod!!!
Wish me luck!!

Are those my feet on Candain soil?
I love to travel, but I love to be at home.
I was supposed to be in Rome and Lisbon this weekend, but due to a delay on another company I did not make the cut and got pulled off my flight and reassigned to a Glasgow flight.
Which was fine with me as I love that city. Although we were only there for the day, I had a great shopping excursion.
I bought a pink coctail dress (FAB) and a pair of beige POINTY shoes, a silk black scarf with yellow polka dots and a pink scarf with shoes and purses on it. All for nine pounds. Got to love the summer sales.
Have a few days for myself, and am struggling already as I have nothing to do.
Ahh the dilemmas.

Off to the land of sex and sin. Amsterdam.
Also picked up my schedule for the month of July. My destinations include Rome, Lisbon, Belfast, Glascow, Vancouver, and Burmingham.

Me, negligent in my postings?
Of course.
Today was fathers day, and yes sister, I signed your name on both the cards. We went to visit Daddy today and updated the flowers that decorate his spot. It was busy today, as it must be on special days all the time. I am still new to this whole thing.
We spent the afternoon with the grandparents. Grandpa told me so many stories today about his visits into Glascow, I hope to be able to go and visit some places he talked about. Maybe this summer.
Have submitted my requests for July, and can only wait to see what I get. With people coming and going into the country, and weddings, and bachlorette parties, and visiting my fmaily in England and Vancouver. I am not sure how I am going to get everything in. I suppose I will have to prioritize.
The good news is that Ryan will only need to have hip replacement surgery. The thought was that he might have had to had his leg rebroken and then hip replacement, but the later is the only required procedure.
I asked him to come to Teresa's wedding, as she is the one that introduced him to me many years ago. I think that it is good for him to get out. Although I dread running into some of my ex-friends. That whole scene was silly and I think I would like to pretend that it never happened. That is me, pretend that things did not happen for long enough they will not exist. I know... silly.
Classes may be done, but I have been uber busy running around doing things that I should have done before. But am happy to report that all is marked, and have only to input the marks and comments first thing in the morning.
There have been a hundred and one social activities, that have required my drinking, I mean attendance. Hosted a poker party thursday night. I do not know how to play poker, but I do know how to get 48 beers left at my house. The two day rule is kicking in as of midnight tonight.
I also go back to work this weekend, which is good and bad. I like the money, and the travel, but the hours are insane. The fact that I am home so little is also crazy. But a shopaholic has to do what a shopaholic has to do. (Can't wait to hit that jewlery store in Amsterdamn. The one that the cool necklaces come from.)
And then I am home to unpack, hit a bachlorette party for Mandy, and then leave for Montreal for three days. I can wait for the testing, but am excited about being in that city. I am such a city girl.
And as summer hits so does my insomnia. In bed around midnight but wide awake by 5am. Good thing I function best on no sleep.
Can't wait to see everyone in the next few weeks!!!
Of course.
